Go in With an Open Mind

An open mind is a must when you attend your first class. it may feel weird. If it's a brand new experience or if it's a style of workout that you've never done, it can feel even more strange. Go into your first class with an open mind so that you get the most out of the class as possible.

It's Okay to Try Something New

If you only ever do the same things over and over, you won't find new activities that you like. If you're trying fitness classes for the first time, sign up for a brand new class or activity. It can be rewarding to prove to yourself that you can do something new.

Lean on the Instructor

The instructor is there for a reason. If you're feeling uneasy, have questions, or aren't sure what to do, be sure to look to the instructor for guidance. They can help make you feel more comfortable and they will show you what needs to be done.

You Won't Be Alone

If you're going into a group fitness class, the good news is you won't be all by yourself. There will be many other people there taking the same class as you so that you can feel more confident. You can copy their moves if they seem more accustomed to the workout format.

It's Okay to Be New

Everyone was new at some point. Don't let it stop you from trying a new activity or let it stop you from reaching your fitness goals. Be brave and walk into a few new classes at least a few times so that you can find what works well for you.
